The 71st edition of Miss World has begun in India, welcoming contestants from 115 countries. On March 9, reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown the next international titleholder at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Poland's Karolina Bielawska was most recently crowned Miss World in March 2022.

In the dazzling universe of pageantry, the Miss World competition stands as an iconic event that goes beyond the runway. Within this prestigious contest, participants have the opportunity to showcase their talents, intellect, and compassion. One intriguing aspect of the Miss World journey is the inclusion of Fast Track competitions, adding an extra layer of excitement and challenge to the contestants' experience.

Approximately 115 candidates are in India vying for Miss World.

Each Fast Track competition’s winner automatically receives a semifinalist position during the grand coronation night of Miss World. For example, many fans remember that Elizabeth Safrit of the United States was fast tracked as the Multimedia winner and was eventually awarded the 3rd place position at Miss World 2014.

Let’s review some of the most popular Fast Track competitions underway right now at the Miss World events in India.

Beauty with a Purpose: At the heart of Miss World's mission lies the Beauty with a Purpose initiative. This fast track competition focuses on the contestants' philanthropic endeavors and charitable projects. It goes beyond physical beauty, emphasizing the importance of making a positive impact on society.

Talent Showcase: Talent is another crucial dimension evaluated in the fast track competitions. Contestants get the opportunity to display their unique skills, whether it be singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, or any other form of artistic expression. This segment adds an element of entertainment and diversity to the overall pageant.

Candidates wore national costumes during opening ceremonies in February 2023.

Sports and Fitness: Promoting a healthy lifestyle is a fundamental aspect of the Miss World organization. The Sports and Fitness fast track competition celebrates contestants' athleticism and dedication to physical well-being. It showcases their commitment to leading active and healthy lives, reinforcing the idea that beauty encompasses both inner and outer strength.

Multimedia Challenge: In the digital age, the ability to communicate effectively through various media channels is essential. The Multimedia Challenge evaluates contestants' proficiency in social media, blogging, and public relations. This fast track competition recognizes the importance of being a well-rounded ambassador in the modern world.

Top Model: The Top Model fast track competition allows contestants to channel their inner fashionista. It assesses their poise, style, and runway presence, providing a platform for participants to shine in the glamorous world of fashion. This segment showcases the fusion of beauty and elegance.

Head to Head Challenge: The contestants show their speaking and presentation skills as well as their thinking and intelligence. The Head to Head challenge is the first chance each contestant gets to have their voices heard by viewers tuning in from all across the globe. This challenge also gives preparation for the Final Night if or when the contestants have to answer their final question.

The Top 5 winners of the Head-to-Head speeches are Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, England and Lebanon.

The Miss World schedule lasts approximately three weeks, with Fast Track competitions surrounding other festival activities like tourism and children’s meet and greet events. Many of these events are covered on the Miss World YouTube page or results can be found via @missworld Instagram and Facebook accounts. Dates are subject to change.
